Antonio Stradivari 1733 ca. VL Tangye, Segelman

This instrument is named after two of its past owners, the British amateur William Tangye of Birmingham and the British collector Gerald Segelman (1899–1992). In their certificate, the Chicago-based dealers Bein & Fushi stated that the violin was known as ‘Hamma’ but, although illustrated in the book of Walter Hamma, it has not been possible to verify when it became part of the German dealers’ collection.
