Angelo da Rub
Vita
Angelo da Rub, also known as Augusto da Rub, worked in Viterbo near Rome between 1760 and 1775. While some of his works are heavily influenced by Jakobus Stainer, others take their form from the large Amati model; the arching of da Rub’s instruments therefore varies a great deal. Da Rub was a greatly respected violin maker of the famous Roman school of violin-making, alongside David Tecchler and Michele Platner.
