Antonio Stradivari 1702 VL Phillips
This instrument, although well known among the experts, particularly those in France, is published here for the first time. It belongs to Stradivari’s most storied time, the so-called ‘Golden Period’ and it bears an original label reading ‘Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1702’, of which the last three digits have been rendered in the Cremonese master’s hand.
