Antonio Stradivari 1702 VL Lukens, Edler, Voicu
This violin belonging to Stradivari’s ‘Golden Period’ still bears its original label that reads ‘Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1702’ and is named after three of its past owners, Mr. A. W. Lukens of New York, USA, a Mr. Edler, probably the German collector Charles Edler of Frankfurt, and the Romanian violinist and conductor Ion Voicu (1923–1997).
