Having studied the viola myself, these instruments are of course particularly dear to me. I have always tried to bring together as large a selection of interesting violas as possible, and am always pleased to be able to assist you in making your decision.
Viola players can be complicated – or so it is claimed among colleagues. I believe they are, in fact, simply more discerning; needing a suitable tool with which they can assert themselves among violinists and cellists, when necessary. It is an interesting issue, and many violin makers enjoy the challenge of making a new viola. I always try to bring the best ones to the Black Forest!
